Monterey Hill Restaurant Wedding: Erica + Evelyn

In a world and time where you really have to fight for your right, Erica and Evelyn's wedding is such a breather for us. Unknown to many, we have family members back in the Philippines who are proud members of the LGBTQ group. This is the reason why we could not be more honored to participate in their wedding. We felt so much sincerity when they said their vows to one another. At some point, our vision became blurry as we try to hold back our tears. We truly share their happiness as they finally found their RIDE or DIE.

This wedding was packed with emotion: anxiety, tears of joy, laughter and of course, some crazy great dancing. While I am still finishing the rest of their wedding pictures, I am excited to share to you their wedding day highlight. :)

Ranchos Palos Verdes Wedding Preview: Eiro + Karen

“11 years and 30 days ago you came into my life. In front of the old library at LACC... I thank God that he has given me the most amazing, precious, beautiful, caring and compassionate person to spend the rest of my life with" - EIRO to KAREN, Wedding Vow

The constancy of a soul mate is persistently challenged by the ever changing chapters in our lives. Should they endure with time, a maturing love shall encompass these challenges. Our couple is a testimony of it.

Eiro and Karen’s wedding was held at Rancho Palos Verde – known for large tracts of open spaces and expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. Stunning with range of trees – so you see, there’s no shortage of inspiration for their wedding photographs.

Karen looked beautifully elegant in her bridal gown complemented with personal touch of Karen’s heritage beautifully attached to her bridal bouquet. Eiro looked particularly dashing in his suit.  They were both radiant but completely overtaken by the joy of the day

The ceremony was held at Wayfarers Chapel – also known as the Glass Church. It’s unique and modern architecture blessed us with a lot of lights and gave us stunning photos.  Eiro and Karen said their vows surrounded by their very excited guests, all clearly thrilled to see the couple tie the knot. A happy few tears and lots of laughter made it really wonderful.

The setting has gorgeous landscaped, so we took a stroll around for some natural portraits and group shots. They are completely at ease as they enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. They ended the day with sparklers, a wonderful way to create a memorable evening for them and their guests.

Wedding photography is all about being at the right place and at the right time. Capturing moments beautifully would require us to be in right moment. They were literary strangers when they saw each other but it was the right place and the right time to start their perfect story.

We hope you enjoy this selection of photographs from their wedding. Enjoy the photos!

Taglyan Cultural Complex Wedding Preview: Henry + Kat

Wedding Date: September 10, 2017
Ceremony and Reception Venue: Taglyan Cultural Complex

It is always in the simplest gestures that great joy resides, like the glance of the eye which flickers the soul. Such little moments make for great memories. A divine moment of love between Henry and Kat.  They celebrated their union in this beautiful European-inspired venue – Taglyan Cultural Complex.  The breathtaking backdrops never failed us for awesome photographs.

A beautiful day at the most stunning venue for this lovely couple as they married amongst friends and family.  Kat make-up creates the perfect balance of elegance while keeping a soft and natural look. She looked so pretty and elegant in her dress and it was great to see they had chosen green for the bridesmaids. Their dresses work wonderfully with the dramatic stained glass ceiling of the complex. Henry looked so regal and handsome in his suit.

Their beautiful ceremony was such a sweet moment to be a part of and our team love that we are able to capture these sweet intimate moments that are the beginning of a lifetime. Kat was so calm and collective. They are such an amicable couple with genuinely lovely set of family and friends.

A beautiful day turned into a stunning evening with glorious light, so we took the opportunity for another little wander into the magnificent garden with the couple for some “golden hour” portraits. The night was full of great moments.

Deepest gratitude to Henry and Kat for bringing our team along to capture their momentous wedding day. We wish you both so much love, light and promise for the years that we know you will cherish forever.

A brilliant day in a beautiful venue with amazing people. You really couldn’t get much better. This images sums up Henry and Kat perfectly, smile and more laughter. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Save The Date: Sabrina and Chris

If there is one word to best describe Sabrina and Chris, the most fitting adjective is the word "down to earth." We swear that this couple is one of the most chill client we ever had. Usually when we do save the date video, we give our clients instructions what they need to do. That was not the case for these two. They seemed to be natural, they do not need coaching.  It was like the beach was their playground. When they smile, their eyes are also smiling. That is when you know when a smile is natural and not forced.

We spent a good three hour shooting their engagement session at the beach. Too bad though that there were security officers on the day we had the shoot which prevented us from capturing aerial footage of the beach's beautiful landscape. Also, there are times when waves got crazier and so we had to stop. Fortunately, they brought few outfits which allowed them to have various looks. We truly enjoyed shooting their save the date video. :)

Orange County Engagement: Chris + Sabrina

We are so excited for the warm weather and the beautiful sunsets. This means more sessions on the beach and it also means more gorgeous photos! This is exactly what we got with Chris and Sabrina’s engagement photo shoot here at Victoria Beach - known for its white sandy beach and beautiful blue-green waters.  It is a perfect setting, and for them as a couple has an even greater significance.

We started our session walking around in this beautiful sunny day with two really fun people. The couple was relaxed, which allows them to enjoy their day as it is unfolding, safe in the knowledge that their photos will reflect the joy and the love they have for each other. Chris and Sabrina were so much fun getting to know and having in front of our cameras. We enjoyed their down to earth attitudes and genuine spirits. They made us feel completely at ease and can clearly be seen in the stunning images that we produced throughout the day.

They really rocked their session. Every photos are beaming in love. They enjoy the shallow water of the beach, sandy feet and warm embraces. These two are adorable together – two people with unconditional love for each other. This engagement shoot is all about the story between two people full of love. The joy, the smiles, the love are captured in this beautiful shoot.

Thanks to Chris and Sabrina for helping us to create the magic together for this photo shoot. We had such an amazing time in our session.

They are tying the knot this coming August. It was such a pleasure to capture their love story and to capture their big day! And we are excited to share our work on this shoot. Enjoy!

Victoria Beach Engagement: Issa + Claire

Engagement shoots are so fun, and they’re a great opportunity to visit some of your favorite places as a couple, and capture gorgeous snaps while you’re there.  Not only they are lovely opportunity to spend time with your other half, but they are also great way to loosen up in front of your wedding photographer, have them learn how you naturally pose and get some casual but striking poses.

It was a beautiful day, the sky and the water is as blue as can they can be. You can listen carefully and you’ll hear waves lapping on the shore and feel the sand between your toes. Our amazing couple Issa and Claire took their engagement photo shoot her at the long white sandy Victoria Beach. Known for the Victorian La Tour Tower – the stair tower commonly referred to as a lighthouse structure.

Our couple was a bit self conscious when we started the engagement shoot, but their handsome photographer (LOL) instantly put them at ease and this is the breathtaking result. With super chic outfit changes, fun on the sun, kisses in the sea and snapshot into the laidback beach setting. They are like two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together – complementing each other. Claire and Issa have the sweetest disposition and most kind hearts. We love the way they look at one another ad find comfort in each other’s arms.

We always start with a little warm up with all our couples and our couple nailed it? Thet and I love their facial expressions and personalities. They are absolutely perfect together.

Congratulations Issa and Claire! Wishing you all the best for your wedding plans, we are no doubt it will be one seriously stylish soiree!

Treat your eyes to this pretty engagement photos.

Wedding Highlight: Diana + Louis
He is one of the nicest guys we have ever known. She is a social butterfly; ;life of the party. Together, they complement each other in so many ways. On their wedding day, everything was just perfect. From the make up, to flowers.. and all the way to the tiniest details. While Louie looked dapper in his suit, Diana was super stunning. She was incredibly gorgeous, but only second to Ella (LOL). We had fun shooting their wedding and so, we are ecstatic to share their wedding video highlight. Enjoy!
Los Angeles Wedding Sneak Peak: Louie + Diana

We love every bit of this fabulous wedding at Santa Fe Springs Heritage Park. Louie and Diana was such an awesome couple; stylish and so very lovely. This was one of those weddings we looked forward to from the moment Thet and I met them. We knew it would be brilliant day and it really was.

Our day started by taking some details shots until Diana was a bit more advanced with her makeup. Ella, Louie and Diana’s daughter was a real sweetie. She looked enchanting in her pretty dress! Diana looked so elegant in her wedding dress and it was great to see they had chosen red dress for their bridesmaids. It’s a rare thing to see such a strong color but it worked wonderfully with the lovely lilac and purple flowers. And the personal touch was Diana’s heritage photos which she attached to her beautifully created bridal bouquet.

The ceremony was in held in sacred and historic St. Rose of Lima Church. It was warm, intimate and truly charming location for the wedding. It wasn’t long before the gorgeous bride made an appearance, looking calm and happy. Diana made an entrance with her father, small wonder that Louie was overcome with emotion.  The Romanesque style provided a stunning background for images of the couple at the altar.

That wasn’t enough; at the reception we took Diana and Louie for some posed portrait and group shots. Santa Fe Springs Heritage Park lets you laze around among beautifully landscaped greenery and raise your spirits with the various historic influences in the area. There are so many enthralling and photogenic backdrops here. The restored depot with track and steam locomotive of the train is an irresistible setting for photos. Diana’s face is wonderfully expressive and both she and Louie were very relaxed in front of the camera which helped us create lovely intimate shots. The dress looked stunning and the veil gave us great opportunities for some lovely creative shots. It was beautiful and flowing photos.

These moments which make us feel particularly privileged to be involved in a couple’s special day and entrusted to faithfully record their marriage and celebrations. Thank you to Louie and Diana to be part of this day. Scroll down to see what this amazing day was about!

Maggiano's Little Italy Wedding Preview: Ryan + Kit

Subtle simplicity is the way we can think to express the wedding of Ryan and Kit. They cut back on the details and focus more on them, on the experience of their day. They keep the décor and color simple to fit in the theme of their location. Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant is packed with unparalleled sense of class. The sophistication and one of a kind ambiance features a wide variety of settings.

Ryan and Kit chosen to keep the decorations very relaxed, simple, and elegant. The center pieces of the tables were varied white flowers, reflecting the simplicity and modesty of our couple. While the color of the wedding cake’s flower reflected the color of the bridesmaids dresses.

Kit chose a simple and elegant wedding dress, which she looked graceful and refined. While Ryan is a debonair in his gray suit.  Once the groomsmen and bridesmaid had all dressed up, we made the most wonderful Maggiano’s Restaurant to get them together for some pre-ceremony photos.

We decided to go out and do a bit of exploring for Ryan and Kit’s wedding photos. They wanted to make the most of the venue, so we took a few inside and then headed out for a walk around. We love it when we can take a bit of time away which gives the couple a chance to have some time alone together for the relaxed couple’s portraits. Ryan and Kit seemed happy to have a little time together to take all in. The setting is surrounded by Italian villa style architecture and finely manicured topiary was the picture-perfect backdrop. The fairy evening lights and character created luminous photographs that gave them so much romance and elegance.

It was a truly wonderful day. An out of ordinary venue with elegance and a lot of laughter and love. Thank you so much Ryan and Kit for asking Russ and Thet Studio to be a part of your day.

Below is a real representation of the moments we created around our beautiful clients!
