Russ and Thet Studio is composed of husband and wife team, Russell and Thet. The team is pretty new in the business but just because they are new in the industry, they offer so much passion and dedication in their craft. They want to be known for the quality of their work and not just affordability of their services. Russ and Thet Studio has formally launched its business in May 2010.

Engagement: Chi and Kathy
Engagement: Chi and Kathy
This blog needs a lot of updating to do... as in BIG TIME! We had quite a number of event coverage since our last blog entry but we got backed up with work. :(
Anyway, here is Kathy and Chi's engagement photo session. For the last 6 clients that booked us, they found us through the power of internet. We feel so humbled that without any personal referral, these people trust us to cover (probably) the most important event of their lives. Kathy was the one who actually booked us. We only met once in a coffee shop and after our presentation, she booked us on the spot!
During our shoot, it took a while before Chi to 'warm up.' I must admit that we were quite hesitant at first to ask them to do something for us as we find Chi soOoOoooo prim and proper. But contrary to what they say, 'first impression never last.' LOL Why? As soon as we hit Malibu, Chi was so "game" in whatever we asked them to do. I just hope we had a better weather on that day. :(
But to be perfectly honest, this couple doesn't need a lot of coaching to do. The camera just loved them. We'll just let you be the judge. Enjoy the pictures!

Neil and Jean: A Year After
You know that you have severely neglected your blog when you're supposed to post an entry a year way back. That's what happened in our blog. Hahaha!
It has been a year and a month since Neil and Jean's first wedding anniversary. We could not thank them enough for trusting us to cover their lavish wedding celebration. We were still using non-full frame SLR but we managed to take beautiful snaps.
These guys are really amazing and we love every detail of their wedding. We produced more than 3000 photos from their wedding so we really had a hard time choosing photos to share. So we just decided to post photos randomly :)

Remember my FB status update about watching the movie Rosario? We'll that's the concept I had in mind for this photoshoot. I had to search for some inspirations (costumes, accesories, location) so that the couple and I can pull this photo shoot. I think for 2 taxing months, I made Jelynn's life "miserable." Hats off to her and to Ross for pulling it all through. :) Ditch the thousands of pesos you need for a concept shoot. Jelynn made a lot of "labor of love" for this pictorial.
We almost didn't have this photo shoot. We were supposed to have this pictorial done indoor at Bahay Nakpil but we had to cancel it last minute. The weather yesterday was really not that cooperative too. But I guess, prayer really works! Thank God! We had a perfect weather today.
Jelynn and Ross are both my college friends. I shared an apartment with Jelynn for 4 years. Ross was the head of our socio-cultural organization in U.P. and in 1999, Jelynn and I (together with Len and Ann) were the first batch of neophytes of that year...
I didn't make enough editing done in these photos, just a few color treatment. I am still mastering the art of "retouching." For the 2-hour shoot that we had today, I managed to snap 300 photos. Ah huh, you bet! I just randomly selected few photos to be posted here as I don't really wanna pre empt the photo slideshow Im gonna make for these dear friends. So I am saving all the photo tweaking for their AVP.
Wedding is 3 weeks from now. I am just grateful that Jelyn was able to pull off the kind of costume and props I had in mind. Of course, thanks to Jelynn's good friends Jelly and Chloe for helping us with this shoot. I just soOo love the hair and make up. It was soOooO perfect. My request for smokey eyes, red lips and hair curl were perfectly executed. Thanks to my block mate Alvin Bais too for being such a good driver. The last 4 photos though were unedited. I wanna save these pictures in their unaltered version. We were just practically goofing around then as it was the last 5 minutes of our shoot before I head to MOA to attend mass with sisters in law. I had so much fun, really. :)

*Straight from my grave-yard shift (as always!), I headed to the hotel preparation venue as early as 9am. Call time was actually 10am but since I am just a second photographer in this event, I have opted to come earlier than the call time so that I'll have much time to capture the nitty gritty stuff of the wedding. The wedding was awesome. I also saw my previous couple Potsay and Julius (Potsay did the wedding cord for Jhoi. Now, that is really sweet!... Jhoi was such a nice bride. No tantrums at all. She was soOoo cool all through out the day. Her name fits her well: JOY-fulll. Rommel on the other hand was the shy type guy (although I later found out towards end of reception that he is in fact, super kulit!) I cried during the father and daughter dance. Reminds me so much of the father and daughter dance during my wedding... Congratulations Jhoi and Rommel. Have a blissful married life ahead!*

I remember it was the same day when Nikky called me regarding his engagement party at 5pm. He said his photographer cannot come to cover their party. Good thing that he found my ad at craigslist. I could'nt say no because of short notice. I have no excuse but to say yes. He did'nt tell me that it's gonna be a traditional South Asian engagement party. I have no idea. But I am thankful for having this experience for the first time :-)
