Janis + Paulo

Manila Hotel/ Manila Cathedral

This is the wedding that made me wish I have more... more time to capture moment, more angles to capture better photos, more chance to shoot inside the cathedral, and a wireless trigger (as the main photographer didn't use continuous lighting).

When you do back up photo service, you don't actually call the shots. You don't get priority angles and you don't have that much time with the couple. You try to capture moments (which you think) that the main team might not be able to capture. You also have to take the most out of the very limited angle and little time you got for the couple. That's the role of a back up photographer. I am just happy that the main photo team of this wedding has been very accomodating. :)

Now let's talk about the couple. Janis and Paulo are a photographer's dream subject. No need for internalization or any kind of "pep talk" to make your models give you their best angles. No need to look at the light meter, not even the ISO settings. It was like shutter click = lovely photos. I guess what I am trying to say here is that the only thing that the photographer needs to mind is to take snaps. But apart from these, I love this wedding simply because of the overflowing love that the couple have for each other and the unwavering support they have received from their respective families. This was a wedding "7 years in the making." And this is one rare wedding where you could see a very hands-on groom. Paulo has actually written something in a Manila Hotel notepad that he had already achieved his 3 greatest dreams in life. But on this day, he will do one thing that other guys haven't done in their lives: "TO GET MARRIED WITH A GODDESS"... awwww :)

In this wedding, I got so many restrictions. But I still managed to get quite a lot of great pictures- only because I have gorgeous subjects.

Congratulations Janis and Paulo!
